Members of the Shoura Council in its upcoming cycle will be announced in two weeks, al-Riyadh daily reported late Tuesday. The council will include women for the first time. Mohammed Al Naji, head of the administration and human resources committee, told the newspaper that the addition of women will reflect positively on the council thanks to the diversity of opinions that women will bring to the table. Elaph reported last week that 15 women are expected to be appointed for the non-elected body which does not have legislative power. The Shoura has an advisory role, providing non-binding recommendations to the government on different issues.
