Huda al-Saleh reports:
High level sources at the Saudi Shoura Council have revealed to Asharq Al-Awsat that the administrative procedures and logistical support needed to facilitate women joining the next session of Shoura Council will be concluded soon.
According to the sources, the concerned committee is preparing to submit its report regarding receiving Women as members, and has allocated specific areas in the Shoura Council building, in order for female members to perform their duties comfortably.
I was discussing the future of the country with a friend in Jeddah today. He told me this: “Come February, they will bring in some women, put them in a closed box in Shoura, and call it ‘reform’.” ♦
